R2 Applications: Narrative Planning and Branding

MBA and Beyond 0

This time we will be talking about the application for round two because we are almost ending December, so we assume that most of the applicants targeting Round 2 are ready with their stories and have started working on their application components. To clarify, you have to frame your application for round two differently from round one.  Round one application is normally from June, sometimes until September, and round two normally are due in January.

In round two, you need to know the school's environment, like culture, values, community, and expectations of adcoms in round two. Also, you are all aware that round two has more applicants than any other round and less acceptance rate. So, you must pull up your socks and give your best to create a strong application.

To help you create a strong application, be a part of our coffee chat which we do every alternate week, where you can have a chance to talk to alums of top B-schools and clear all your doubts and know your future classmates!

Know the Environment

To set the benchmark, you must be careful and mindful of what you're mentioning. Whether or not the post-MBA goals and experience are collinear or the personality and strength fit in their b-school community. The Adcoms will analyze whether you can become one of the world's greatest leaders.

If you’d like personalized, honest, and in-depth feedback on your application, feel free to book a 1:1 Profile evaluation with our profile experts (students and alums in the top 10 B-Schools).

Why is Sweat Equity Important?

Sweat Equity is now even more important because as you have more schools, they will expect more information from you. To be more prepared, you can attend schools’ admission events, reads to current students, or even visit campus. These are the kind of things that, in round two, might help you to get a powerful and effective application.

The advantage of round one application is the preparation is comparatively easy because the class is still a hundred percent open, and applicants have no competition other than their round. However, different from round two applications, there is less space for applicants, which means fewer acceptance rates, so the probability of more people applying is high.

Suppose you want to know more about how to shape your application that creates impact and will impress Adcoms. Then, feel free to book a 1:1 Profile evaluation with our profile experts (students and alums in the top 10 B-Schools).
