Ans is B

total 10 games , total average =12 , total score =120
has team scored atleast 40 in 1 game
1) 5 games 55 score
remaining 5 is 65
let in 1 game 39 and remaining 4 games score =65-39
let in 1 game 41 and remaining 4 games score =65-41

or simply 5 games = 55 points
1st game 41 points remaining 4 games = 14
1st game 39 points remaining 4 games = 16

AD out

2) Each game at least 9 score

x + 9x9 = 120
x=120-81
x=39 DEFINITELY NO

B is the answer

The most important thing of all for any Data Sufficiency question is to process statement 1 and statement 2 separately first and only if this doesn't yield an answer we should proceed with statement 1 and 2 combined.
