Yes indeed I got panicked because the questions that I was practising were different from those that came in the actual GMAT. Could anyone suggest some books or material that has questions similar to those of the actual GMAT?

My answer won't be very satisfying. The best sources for real GMAT questions come from GMAC (mba.com). Unfortunately the materials aren't as updated as I would like them to be - the latest version of the OG didn't include any new questions at all. If you are studying from the Official Guides and taking GMAT Prep practice exams, you are doing the best you can to prepare yourself for the questions you will see on test day.

It sounds like you have the capability to score reasonably well on the Verbal section. Try to improve your skills through timed sets of the OG. Most important, focus on managing stress during the exam and don't let yourself get rattled by strange questions - after all they could be experimental questions and not count on your score at all.

While studying is very important, don't loose the focus on the real goals: improve your English. Personally I believe that reading a lot will help you out in the verbal part of the GMAT. It will allow you too familiarize with proper english while training yourself to quickly grasp the content of RC passages.

I have similar feeling too.Given GMAT once got 600(Q47 V27).Preparing to give exam again.I have given gmat prep with variable score of 640 test 1,560 test2 ,610 test3 .GMAT club test CAT got V35.I think GMAT prep is best way to practice which has questions similar in GMAT .Others are offering questions similar to old patterns.

Hi bhupendrajaiswal,

GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, your 3 CAT score results - and your Official Score - all 'revolve' around about a 600, which shows that you essentially performed the same each time (+/- a few points). If your goal is to score significantly higher, then you might be making some of the same 'mistakes' during your studies now that you made when you studied before.

1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
4) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on the Official GMAT?

Goals:
5) What is your goal score?
6) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
7) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
8) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
