Hi
i am 37 y.o. and would like to apply in m7. I have 3.55 gpa and gmat of 770 and i am cfa level 2 candidate. I'm interested in pursuing mba and not an emba. Do you think age factor is something i should be really concerned about? If yes, what would be your suggestion?
Thanks

Hi,
Shimri from ARINGO here.
Yes, your age and, even more importantly, your years of experience are definitely factors for traditional full-time M7 MBA programs. Given your 10+ years of experience, admissions committees often question whether a regular MBA classroom and recruiting process are the best fit.

To be candid, your chances at a traditional M7 MBA are probably on the lower side despite your very strong stats. A 770 GMAT is outstanding, and the CFA Level II candidacy also helps, but age is still something schools consider carefully for full-time MBA programs.
I suggest you watch my video "MBA after 30" where I discuss the reasons and the options for senior and older applicants: https://youtu.be/e-7x1vRTQyU?si=ycknAFj5OCHCGvBV .

That said, I do think there are some excellent alternatives that are specifically designed for more senior candidates and can actually be a better fit career-wise and personally. In particular, I would look closely at:
• Stanford MSx
• MIT Sloan Fellows
• Foster GEMBA
• USC IBEAR
• LBS Sloan
These are full-time senior MBA-style programs and are much more age-appropriate while still offering outstanding brands, networks, and career opportunities.

Happy to discuss further and possibly help you build a strong application strategy. Feel free to email me at shimriw@aringo.com with your CV, GMAT breakdown, and any additional background information.

And yes, 770 is an excellent score!!!

Good luck!

Hi Sharmavaish06,
Shimri from ARINGO here.
Right now, I would focus mainly on two things: getting the strongest GMAT score you can and building meaningful professional experience through internships.

There is no magic number of internships that guarantees admission. Quality matters much more than quantity. One strong internship where you had real impact is worth far more than several weak or purely administrative roles.
Your nonprofit leadership is definitely positive and can help differentiate you, especially for deferred MBA programs. Schools like to see initiative, leadership, and sustained commitment to something meaningful.
A 705 Focus score and a 3.5 GPA can absolutely keep you competitive, especially if the rest of your profile is strong. Over the next year, I would focus on:
• Pushing the GMAT as high as possible
• Getting at least one strong, recognizable internship experience
• Continuing to grow your leadership story
• Showing impact, not just participation
• Building strong relationships with professors and mentors for recommendations
As for internships, full-time during the summer is usually ideal, but part-time during the academic year can also be valuable if the role is meaningful.
And yes, you absolutely have a chance at top business schools. You still have time, which is a huge advantage.
Feel free to reach out next year, after your GMAT, when applications become relevant. I am always available at aringo.com">shimriw@aringo.com.
Good luck!

Profile Review Request: M7 / T15 Chances, Top European programs

Background:
Indian male
Age at matriculation: 25

Education:
BMS Undergrad (Commerce/Finance/Management) from a reputed Indian college
GPA: 9.28 (9/9/9)
GMAT Focus: 655 (Q82, V84, DI82)

WE:
3 years at Healthcare consulting (think LEK/ZS/Trinity), one promotion
Work primarily includes analytical thought partner/strategic decision making for Pharma giants based in Europe. Client facing role with significant accountability in decisions made, often traveling onsite to European offices.

Post MBA goals: Strategic leadership positions in Global Pharma (or perhaps consulting in MBB to strengthen strategic positioning and thinking with an eventual pivot into global pharma)

Thoughts on profile? I do want to aim for scholarships rather than paying sticker hopefully, but what are my chances for sticker programs?

Hi everyone,

I am preparing my application for postgraduate programs for the September intake in UK colleges, and a few colleagues from my previous organization are willing to provide Letters of Recommendation (LORs).

I am a bit confused about how the LOR submission process usually works.

Does the recommendation letter need to be on the company’s official letterhead, or is it acceptable if the recommender submits it directly using their official company email ID?

If universities require submission through official email IDs, how does that process work? Do universities provide the official submission link/contact before or after we submit the application?

My colleagues are finding it difficult to access their company’s letterhead template, so I wanted to understand what is generally accepted by universities.

I am very new to this entire process, so any guidance would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. You have a very solid profile. The combination of a strong GPA, healthcare consulting experience, and exposure to global pharma clients works well together. Your role already sounds quite strategic, and the client-facing international exposure definitely adds value. The promotion also helps because it shows growth early in your career.

Your post-MBA goal also makes sense. Moving from healthcare consulting into leadership roles within pharma is a very natural story. For scholarships, Europe may actually give you better odds than the US. Schools like INSEAD and HEC Paris value applicants with clear career direction and international exposure, both of which you already have.

One thing I’d focus on now is making your story more personal:
Why healthcare?
What have you learned from working with pharma clients?
What kind of leader do you want to become long term?

No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

I would appreciate a profile evaluation for the 2027–28 intake of the following programs:

• ISB PGP
• INSEAD MBA
• HEC Paris MBA
• London Business School MBA

I would also appreciate guidance on the GMAT Focus Edition score I should target to be competitive at each of these schools.

Profile Overview:
Academics:
• Class X: 8.2 CGPA
• Class XII: 83%
• B.Tech in Civil Engineering from VIT Vellore -8.74 CGPA
• Specialized in Multimedia & Web Design during Higher Secondary Education and secured 93% in the subject

Professional Experience:

By the time of application, I will have approximately 4–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Technologies, Data Governance, and AI-driven transformation initiatives at Accenture.

My career journey is unconventional. Despite graduating in Civil Engineering, I was passionate about technology from an early age and invested heavily in self-learning throughout college. This enabled me to successfully transition into the technology sector and build expertise in Azure Cloud, Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Artificial Intelligence.

Over the course of my career, I have progressed from an individual contributor to a Subject Matter Expert role, working on enterprise-scale data transformation and cloud modernization programs. My work has involved collaborating with cross-functional teams, engaging with business stakeholders, contributing to solution design, and supporting strategic transformation initiatives.

Key Professional Achievements:

• Contributed to a large-scale Oracle-to-Snowflake transformation proposal involving inventory rationalization and AI-driven modernization initiatives.
• Conducted Proofs of Concept using AI-powered conversion tools and Generative AI agents to automate migration, validation, and documentation activities.
• Contributed to approximately USD 2 million in projected implementation cost optimization through automation, effort reduction, and process improvements.
• Conducted 27 Knowledge Transfer sessions as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting capability building and mentoring team members.
• Earned 10 Microsoft Certifications across cloud, data, and related technology domains.
• Received organizational recognition including a Sparkling Star Award and a Certificate of Achievement for outstanding performance and contributions.

Leadership & Extracurricular Activities:

• Runner-Up in the University of Queensland Design Challenge (Australia).
• Worked on a sustainability-focused project titled “Building Flood Resilience using Green Interventions integrated with RF-based monitoring systems for Hyderabad.”
• Demonstrated interdisciplinary problem-solving by combining engineering, sustainability, and technology concepts.

Post-MBA Goal:

Short Term:
Transition into Technology Strategy, Digital Transformation Consulting, Product Strategy, or AI-led Business Transformation roles.

Long Term:
Become a business leader operating at the intersection of technology, AI, and strategy, helping organizations leverage data and artificial intelligence to create measurable business value and drive large-scale transformation initiatives.
Can you help in evaluating my profile?

Can you help in evaluating my profile?
You have a good profile, but I would not call it an easy admit profile for ISB, INSEAD, or LBS. There are spikes in your profile, but also a few things you should be realistic about.

Your Civil Engineering to Tech transition is actually more interesting than a standard engineer-to-tech story. Your work in AI, cloud, data engineering, and transformation is relevant, especially given where the market is headed. The SME exposure, enterprise-scale projects, and quantified business impact also help.

Having said that cloud/data transformation is a crowded bucket at top MBA programs. A lot of profiles sound similar on paper.

So the key question becomes: what genuinely makes your work different?

Certifications are good, but schools will care much more about leadership, ownership, promotions, influence, and business impact than the number of badges.

I also think your post-MBA goals need tightening. Right now it reads a bit broad: tech strategy, digital transformation, product strategy, AI transformation. Directionally it makes sense, but schools may ask why you need an MBA if you are already doing parts of this. The story becomes stronger if positioned as moving from deep tech execution into business and strategy ownership.

Academically, things are fine overall, though the 10th score is slightly on the weaker side for top global MBA pools. Not a dealbreaker, but it means you would benefit from a stronger GMAT to offset it.

For GMAT Focus, I would say 675+ for ISB, 705+ for INSEAD and HEC, and 715+ if LBS.
