Hi, please evaluate my profile. I want to know what should i focus on to increase my chances in the T15 US colleges.

- I have scored 655 (91 percentile) in gmat focus.
I am retaking my gmat once more on 9th june for a better score if possible.

- I have 3.16/4 CGPA

- I have been working in Kellanova/MARS as an SAP analyst in SAP security in cybersecurity for 3 years(in september this year i will complete 3 years). I daily interact and manage employees globally-Dubai usa thailand. Work on governance and risk management of SAP users. Multiple projects that include upgrade of SAP across whole of KAMEA region

- I have been into powerlifting and health and fitness and nutrition a lot. I have won district powerlifting competition gold. Went for states too. Have been helping people with nutrition as a paid service.

- Worked in tavishi which focuses on children education for the needy. Worked in Citta which is mental health awareness ngo as the lead content planner and session organiser.
Hi NMNOVO
Thanks for sharing your profile. You already have some strong elements, particularly your experience at Kellanova/MARS, exposure to global stakeholders, cybersecurity/SAP specialization, and your extracurricular achievements in powerlifting and community service.
I LOVE THESE!!!

To enhancing your chances to get accepted to T15 MBA programs, I would focus on three key areas:

1. Improve your GMAT if possible
A 655 is a solid score, but you will be competing against a very strong applicant pool, especially as an Indian male applicant from a technology background. A higher GMAT will help!

2. Continue building work experience and leadership
3 years of experience, which is on the lower end of the range . Over the next 1–2 years, focus on taking on larger responsibilities, leading projects, mentoring junior team members, driving measurable business impact, working with international and if possible, earning promotions!!!

3. Sharpen your impact story (well, if we work together, we can help with this 😊 )
Your profile has a nice combination of professional, athletic, and community involvement. As you prepare applications, focus on clearly articulating your impact!!!

Overall, I see a profile with good potential for T15 programs. The two factors that would most strengthen your candidacy are a higher GMAT score and additional professional progression before applying.

Those improvements would make your profile significantly more competitive against a crowded applicant pool.

In any case, feel free to reach out (hopefully after an improved GMAT) at [email protected]
GOOD LUCK!

Hey, I have a few questions about extra curricular activities and how these can add to one’s profile. So I have interest in a few things but they are more like hobbies. I never pursued any of these, so if I think about it I do not have any extra curricular activities. Here are a few things I’m interested in :

1. I like to go to a shooting range in my neighbourhood and am very good at rifle shooting, but never did any competitions (Although I can get some testimony from the range if required).
2. I go swimming over the weekends, but never did any competitions.
3. I volunteered with a college Non profit during the first year of my college.

So my question is
1. How can these be added to one’s profile provided these are not quantified and does adding these help?
2. What kind of weightage does extracurriculars play in one’s profile?

Hi,
I LOVE your question on how do extracurricular activities add to one’s profile!!!
When I use to interview for London Business School - I used to look for three things - academics. work experience and "all the rest" this can be a hobby, or volunteering, or a anything else... there is no "one formula fits all" but these activities can show leadership, focus (if you got really good), passion, care for the community or even sometimes international exposure. it really depends on one’s profile, and when the work ex and academics are good, we less focus on these, but when they are average we use these to differentiate you from other candidates.
MAKES SENSE?

you have a super interesting profile.
It all depends if you want to stay in India (and do an EMBA) or move to the US for a life changing full time 1Y degree (for exmpale: MIT SF, Foster GEMBA, USC IBEAR or Stanford MSX) some of these, do not need a GMAT at all!!!
you can watch my video MBA Over 30... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-7x1vRTQyU which goes over these options...
I suggest you send me your CV and desires to [email protected] and I will try to help further and maybe even work on some amazing applications!
GOOD LUCK!

You have a strong profile overall, especially with your academic consistency, AI-focused experience at Ericsson and Motherson, and leadership through TEDx and the Entrepreneurship Cell.

The biggest variable right now is your GMAT. A strong score can make you highly competitive for ISB. I would also encourage you to focus on showcasing leadership, ownership, and measurable business impact in your work experience rather than just the technical aspects.

As a female engineer with experience in AI/GenAI, you already have a compelling story. A solid GMAT and well-articulated achievements should put you in a good position for ISB.
GOOD LUCK !!! and always here for you if you want some help with the ISB application on [email protected]

Profile 7 ............Male/ 26yrs/ Engineer/Indian
GMAT: 680 (Q:50 V:31) Will be giving again.
Work Experience – Fortune 500 O&G Firm in India (4 yrs worked.)
Job Profile: 1.5 yrs in Sales & 2.5 years in Operations (earlier)

Education – NIT Bhopal (8.7/10 CGPA)
BTech: Civil Engineering

Extra Curricular:-
* • Delegate at HPAIR-Harvard College 2023 Conference at Harvard University, Massachusetts in Feb’19, Track: Energy & Environment Sustainability
* • Amongst few employees of IOCL, selected for MDP(Management Development Program) at IIM Ahmedabad in June’23
* • Part of many CSR campaigns: Clean India Mission, distribution of solar street lights, distribution of desks to govt. schools, & Health Check-up camps at petrol stations
* • Fond of Travelling & karaoke, French A2 level.

Leadership:-
Earlier, working in the Operations team in the industrial plant, I got the opportunity to inculcate leadership qualities, amidst handling industrial relations issues, managing contract workers, and coordinating with local vendors & distributors. Now, working in the Retail sales team, I learnt the importance of CRM, increasing customer base under loyalty programs, promoting sales campaigns aggressively, and redressing grievances/ complaints from customers. Currently, I am solely responsible for handling operations of the company-owned retail outlet with annual avg. turnover of 15 million USD, and daily avg. footfall of 7,500 customers. It is one of the most rewarding experiences for me because of the skill sets that I was able to expand.

Target B Schools:-
HEC, LBS, ROSS, UCLA, CORNELL, NUS, ISB, CMU.

I wish it was that simple but profile evaluation does not really work well from a short chat or a checklist answer.

I have seen a lot of advice floating around that reduces everything to a few generic lines like improve your GMAT or show more leadership. The reality is that top schools like ISB are not just comparing scores or job titles. They are trying to understand what makes someone meaningfully different and whether there is a real reason to choose that person over many others with similar backgrounds.

Looking at your profile, you already have strong pieces. Good academics, solid AI and engineering work, and some leadership and extracurricular involvement as well. So the question is not whether you have done enough things. It is how all of this comes together into one clear story.

What matters now is clarity. What have you been building toward through your work. What kind of problems you care about solving? And why your path makes sense in a way that feels real and not just impressive on paper.

Instead of focusing only on what to add, it helps to step back and think about what you want the admissions team to remember about you after reading your application. That is usually what makes the difference at ISB level schools.

Your profile is solid !!! I like it!
work experience and responsibility is great!!! especially managing a high-footfall retail outlet and moving across both operations and sales... nice!!! That kind of exposure does matter.

As you know, and given your background, the GMAT is still a bit on the lower side. A 20 to 30 point improvement would genuinely make a difference, not just cosmetically but in how competitive your file looks in a very crowded pool of Indian engineering applicants. (in the GMAT FE equivalent)

Beyond the score, what will really matter is how clearly you position your story. and we can help with that so once you have a great new score, feel free to send me all the details to [email protected] and we can take it from there!(and by the way, you dont need to focus right now on anything else... you have so many activities! we just need a higher GMAT and to focus the story!
