Not even a little bit. I lived in PA when I applied, visited in November, applied in January, and kept my butt at home in PA and interviewed there. Got in just fine. Both on campus and off campus interviews are weighted equally. Do what works best for you.

Invited!!!! Feels good after the HBS ding last week. Indian applicant / 740 / Male / non-profit R1 admits, members and moderators - any good resources to diligence to help prepare for the interview? Given travel constraints I'm going to interview with Alumni based in Mumbai. It'll be great to get a perspective from people who just went thru the process. Good luck guys! I was freaking out about my gpa at 3.5 and gmat at 670 but its reassuring to know that you got an interview with a low gpa. This means adcom is reading all files. Hope against hope that i get an interview.

It's only been two days of interview invites, but it feels like the entire week has passed. No invite = time crawls . I have friends at Booth, and it would be super embarrassing to not be interviewed.
