Hello! I am just wondering if someone could review my profile for INSEAD. Its hard to gauge if it is worth applying, as some of the profiles submitted seem like steep competition.

Age:30
Nationality: Irish
Education: Engineering (Edinburgh University) - Mid 2-1(dont know GPA)

Career:
4 months tech start up Ireland
1.5 year in large Engineering Firm (CB&I, working for BP)
4 years in Boutique Operations Consultancy 100 people (current) - No promotions to show progression - Flat structure have remained as Consultant with Pay increases. Not sure if this is a big deal.

Extracurricular:
-Volunteer consultancy working for Marine Megafauna foundation (Very positive feedback)
-Vice President of Events at Management consultancy assocation(organised over 10 events over the last year on leadership and tech)
-Top 3 in EY Edinburgh Apprentice competition at Uni(300 contestants)
-Started a public speaking group toastmasters at last company - 30 paying members, still running

GMAT: Not completed - should be able to achieve 680-700.

International experience:
-Live and work in London, a foreign country. Studied in Scotland.
-Lived and worked in France 7 month
-2 US internships (3months)
-Volunteered in Philipines 3 months
- Mongol Rally, drove from London to Mongolia.

I have big interest in South East Asia, particularly Indonesia. I have been out there 4 times and have been learning the language(basic conversational). I would love to work in that region in the start up or investment scene. I am also very interested in social enterpises and ethical business's. Would be interested in getting strategy experience and applying to emerging markets, in what type of business, I'm not sure yet.

Anyway, thank if you have read this far! This Forum is great!

I just finished my first interview, and pretty frustrated...;-( the interviewer was somewhat harsh on questions.
Does anyone know acceptance rate after interview?

I think I read somewhere 50-60% of acceptance in the interview round + heard from alumni that "harsh" is sometimes just the style of interviewer and not indication of outcome.[/quote]

Thanks a lot.
It does give me a little relief.

Is R1 deadline May 15? So should it be 1-1.5 week before May 15?

Is anyone concerned about the January intake and the program experience given current COVID-19 conditions? Of course we have no idea what January and 2021 will look like, but I struggle with the idea of classes potentially being virtual to begin (or periods of virtual learning given virus spikes, etc.), which severely detracts from the experience of a 1 year program. I also worry about the market for internships in summer 2021 and the job market upon graduation, though that wouldn't be end of 2021/early 2022, so a bit down the road. As I mentioned we cannot predict what 2021 and beyond will look like, but the idea of a 1 year program seems much riskier now given the above factors - paying full tuition for potential online learning and internship/job market risks.

I'd love to hear what others are thinking on this front. Thanks everyone.

Yes, I am worried too on the same concerns you mentioned. I am not even sure if we can get visa also in case gets admitted. I hope insead consider deferral options as virtual MBA won’t make sense given the high investment. Honestly, I don’t think things will become better by jan 21, so deferral is the the only option left. Anybody has an idea on sep 20 intake. What’s their plan?

I do not think that visas will be a problem for 2021, at least in Europe the back-to-normal plans are starting, and by the end of summer we should have a "normal" situation. Surely there will be disruptions and probably some new restrictions on the way, but this is the new normal probably not just for the next year...

Regards,
Pablo
