Hi
Marger, yes, the acceptance rate at Booth is more generous than HBS and Wharton, so you have the right idea here.
I just want to say for you and everyone:
make decisions about Round 2 applications now. You won't have a decision back from the schools until a week, sometimes two, before Christmas and all the applications for top schools are in the first week of January.
So that makes it impossible if you are busy around the holidays and frankly, I don't think you can scramble together quality applications (researching the school, contact alums and such) in such a short period. Maybe 1 or 2 that are closely related to R1 apps if you have a lot of time off? but its playing with fire.
Keep in mind that interview odds are generally 50/50 and the people who are not selected never predicted that.
Marger
I'll pop in and say hello. I am applying for R1 along with Harvard and Wharton. I am delighted that at least Booth matches the HBS recommendation topic, I really hate asking people to write all these different essays for me.
I think I saw that Booth interviews a lot of applicants compared to other schools which I think should go in my favor as I think I interview reasonably well if I were to make it that far.
Definitely looking forward to hitting submit on this application, hopefully it is the last one that I have to do I don't have to revisit with more schools in round 2!
Good luck to everyone else submitting!
