Hi guys,

I am about to apply for the FT, but would there be any internship opportunities for FT students? It looks like the univrrsity is much more focused on coop students. I am not sure how I may secure a job without any internship opportunities.

Hey!
Yeah. DeGroote's flagship programme is their Co-op programme. I applied for the full time as the Co-op does not accept students with more than 5 years experience. If your years of experience is less than 5, you can apply to the Co-op. The full time programme does provide internship opportunity.
Yes. you are right. During placements, Canadian companies give highest importance to Canadian education and Canadian work experience. An internship will definitely help.

Thank you for the input. Do you know how good their internship program is? I am sure that a lot of co-op students get almost guaranteed placements for 3 terms, but I've read from the forum that the university does not really provide much support for FT students, and it might be possible to graduate without any experiences. As my background is not in business and as I am not from Ontario, getting an experience before graduation is one of the most important factors I am considering now. My experience is 4 years (5 years with internship for my undergrad), so I guess I am really in between the two options.
Do you know what the university said about the summer internship or any internship opportunities for FT students?

Hey!
You are right. Their flagship programme is the co-op and they give the most attention to that. Having said that, getting an internship is basically the student's responsibility in any university. There will a placement cell and it is up to you to secure an internship for yourself. Are you from Canada? If you have prior work experience in Canada, then you do not need an internship as much as say, someone like me. Furthermore, keep in mind that the class profile of DeGroote University will be on the younger side. Average student age is 26 and average work experience around 3 years.
In my case, I got admission from University of Alberta. So I have selected that.

Gave my interview a few days ago . Mostly i was asked behavioural questions and follow ups based on these questions.
Some of the questions that i remember :
1. tell us about a time you failed a project and what did you learn.
2. How do handle a situation when your team mates are not performing well .
3. How do you handle an argument with a senior.
4. A few questions about the projects that i have done and my role in them.

Hi guys,
After submitting the application, I got a mail couple of days later asking to submit a copy of the score, transcript etc and that to activate MacID and check status in Mosaic. Where are these documents to be uploaded? Also, where do I find the link to Mosaic or MacID, haven't received any acknowledgment mail with that stuff?

If it's the attached mail,
Then you just have to reply back to the same ID with the docs they've asked. Also once you submitted your application you would've received an acknowledgement mail. That has the steps on how to activate your Mac Id

Hey everyone! I just had my final co-op interview today and thought I'd let everyone know my profile/timeline/experience with the admission process for reference.

I'm a current McMaster domestic undergrad student completing my fourth year in Health Studies and Anthropology.
Profile:
Work experience: no managerial/full time experience
GPA: B+ in my final two years
GMAT: 700 (45Q,40V)

Timeline:
Submitted application January 16, 2018
Kira online interview January 19
Invitation received for interview January 24
Final interview February 6

My interview was pretty relaxing as far as interviews go, and everyone was very kind, taking pressure off from the start. Started with a 45 minute orientation to the program where I was able to ask questions along with one other applicant, which was follow by the 30 minute behavior based interview. My question were consistent with any google search results for "behavior based interview questions" and one situational question. The interview felt very quick and seemed like it went well! The final part of the process was a tour of the building conducted by another faculty member, where we were given even more opportunity to ask questions and familiarize ourselves with campus.

I was told I would hear back within two weeks and will update as soon as I know anything. If there's any other questions I can answer about the process feel free to ask and I'll respond as soon as I'm able.

I wanted to ask if anyone could provide some insight on the "Please provide any other information you feel would be helpful to us in making a decision on your application" question. I'm unsure if this is a question to explain any reasons why GMAT or GPA is lacking, or talk about previous work experiences, or if this is a introduction of yourself?
