Congratulation to all those who received the shortlist for IIM B admission interviews today.

Prepare well for the interviews, The interviews are primarily a conversation/discussion to see your fit for the program. Remember to focus on commonly asked questions (Why MBA, Why IIM B, future aspirations) and on profile specific questions (projects you have done, achievements, and anything else mentioned on your application).

For mock interviews with IIM B alumni, feel free to PM me. (very limited slots left)

Regards,
Tridisha

Thank you for the insights on the interviews. I have one quick question, is there a WAT for this admission cycle at IIMB? I don't seem to find many details about it. Can any R1 interviewees let us know about it?

From the data available on the decision tracker, I see for the past 3 years, there were 53 applicants. From those 53, 21 applicants got admitted out of the 27 interviewed. These numbers maybe a little bit skewed either way but in general, i feel the interview to admission conversion for IIMB is high. Tridisha1 any thought on this?

Is Round 3 worth applying?

The logic of asking this question is this- If they are fishing for only few exceptional candidates(740 GMATs or International experience etc etc) in the last round, the effort of submitting, asking for LORs, if any and finally getting rejected - the whole 9 yards, ain't worth it? instead apply for R-1? next year? because LORs don't come easy- it's a leverage you cannot waste easily

1/3rd of the seats are reserved for each round are per IIMs. All the rounds are highly competitive and it also depends on the kind of profile they receive. You'll be compared with the ones who have similar profile. You don't necessarily need to have a stellar GMAT to get into IIMs. Work on your SOP, Application and LORs. Apply when you fell confident. Do you best in R3 and if you don't get in, then you can improvise your applications for next year.

I think R-3s are for balancing the class-profile, essentially. It gives the adcomm a last chance to even out the class- are there too many IT folks? engineers? men? throw in some artsy ones, throw in some people with good extra curriculars etc etc - so basically people with slightly off-beat profiles and career tracks, I feel will have a stronger chance!

I mean, just think about it- you already had 2 rounds, why have another round?

The seat distribution is not 1/3rd for sure. I am not sure where you got that fact from.
