Hi all ,
As it is going to be my first time to apply , I wanted to Cross check whether an applicant who couldn’t make into 1st Round can apply for the Round 2 for the same year ?

Is this what means reapplicant ?

Re-applicant is a candidate who applied in previous academic year(s). At ISB PGP, you don't have the option to apply to R-2 if you've already submitted your application in R-1. So basically you only have the option to apply (read submit your application) to any one of the given three rounds (R1, R2 or R3) for an admission cycle. If you don't make into this admission cycle you have to wait for the next admission cycle/next year. Hope this helps.

ISB PGP Application Workshop: Key Takeaways
New Delhi, 25th August
Dear Team, Yesterday I attended the ISB PGP Application Workshop, penning down my reflection below. Please note that these are my personal observations, for any clarification reach out to the PGP Admission Team.
The session was moderated by Mr. Aritro Bhattacharya and was divided into two parts- (A) This was an info-session where the program details and admission procedure were introduced. I’ve covered most of the topics here. (B) Alumni interaction session where the candidates got a chance to ask application specific questions to the alumni.
Info Session
There are 6 Aspects to consider-
Academics • If there’s a gap, explain. • Name of your college missing? Write to PGP. • You don’t have a CGPA? Mention it as an additional education. • Low academic score? Counterbalance it with high GMAT/GRE score.
Work Experience • Job Responsibilities. (Highlight 5 pointers) • Please don’t use jargons and be honest. (Essays are evaluated by current students) • Initiative/Achievements • Your work is more important than your CTC and job stature. Communicate it well.
Extra-Curricular Activities • Don’t fudge. • Talk to alums, see what ISB values in the students?
Recommendations • Ideal Recommender- Your manager/your manager’s peer. Or, previous manager. • If family business, get it from the biggest client. (No blood relative) • A client can be a recommender, quality of recommendation will be prioritized not seniority of the recommender. • Recommenders must submit their recommendation within the deadline.
Test Score • GMAT 600-770 (710 Median); GRE 311-334 (327 Median). • You can write GMAT on 15th September and submit unofficial score by end of the day. • This time deadlines won’t be extended. • ISB will not evaluate you on your IR score until and unless you score zero. • Does ISB look into AWA score and sub sectional score? It’s confidential.
Essays • Avoid starting with quotations. • Essays written by consultants will be rejected as they undergo both through human and software scrutiny. • Let your thought flow; ISB is not looking for Shakespeare but please be mindful of language and tone. (No SMS lingo please) • Respect the word limit. Essay# 1 • How can you contribute to the program? Essay# 2 • Short term goal (150 words) + Long term goal (150 words). How will ISB help achieve? (100 words) • Clarity of thought on target industry/companies, regulatory changes etc. • What will you do at ISB? (Clubs, ELP) • Note: CAS (Career Advancement Service) won’t hold it against you if you change your career aspiration after you make it into the college. Re-applicant Essay • Discuss new initiative. Showcase growth/change. • Reach out to Aritro Sir on LinkedIn.
Post this the Team discussed various options to finance the program and scholarships (merit based) available.
Alumni Interaction
Around 10 ISB PGP alumni attended the session; they introduced themselves and shared their pre-MBA and post-MBA roles. PGP aspirants got a chance to interact with them, share their stories, discuss application strategies, understand admission dynamics, asked function/industry specific questions and clarified doubts. I strongly recommend you to attend this event if you're planning to apply this year.
File comment: There were kiosks for Ops., Fin., Consulting, Marketing etc. for attendees to interact and ask industry/role specific queries. Here's a snapshot of the same. IMG_20190825_140252.jpg [ 179.8 KiB | Viewed 1956 times ]

Hi, I just began my GMAT prep and feel like I have long way to go. I plan to give it before December 2019. Am I too late for the 2020 intake and focus on other schools?

Hi members,
could someone share samples of essays for ISB from previous years? It would really help to look at a reliable structure to use as a benchmark!

Hi, i have two questions related to the application for Round 1.
1) I was wondering if any Indians here from ICSE/ISC board could please give me an insight on how they calculated their %. ICSE and ISC officially have a ‘best 5 subjects taken and averaged’ scenario. But the application inspector asks to take an average of all subjects. Is the discrepancy to level out the % relative to other educational boards like CBSE?
2) My recommender has asked if she can fill an offline form. Is there a way the recommender can do that, or does she have to fill the online form only.

So, yesterday in the webinar the head of the adcom did say that we can calculate our percentages as per our board's recommended method. So it will be best 5 and best 4 for icse n isc .

I think it can only be done online, she needs to do it in one go.

Hi,
My suggestion is to calculate the average of all subjects, unless you can find any official communication from your board on recommended method. The ISB form is online, however feel free to email/call the admissions office if offline can be allowed.
PM for further queries.
Regards, Tridisha

See..As far as I know ISB has 3 buckets in which they rate their students The first one being ur acads and they are very clear that in case u have 'not so great' acads then compensate for that with your GMAT(which I believe u have). Now, next is ur extra curricular activities and achievements-they see how well have u done with that. And the last one is ur work ex-How rich is your work ex(quality of work, leadership, award etc). With the limited info present here, I definitely cant comment but you can evaluate yourself. Also, bear in mind that GMAT is just one of the eligibility criteria and not the only one-700 is a good score for ISB-so if you got rejected last year with the same score then I believe the problem lies elsewhere.I would suggest you have a through look through what went wrong and then re apply. Finally to answer your question- a high GMAT score won't guarantee you an admission but a stellar profile(and also a stellar interview) definitely will.
