Im attaching an Excel file that you can download from UNCs website (cant remember the actual link). They might have released the numbers from 2014 already, but I got this several months ago. In my opinion, this breakdown is extremely helpful, especially for international students linke me.

Hope it helps!

I agree that Excel sheet is amazing. I wish all schools published that as well

It is a good one indeed. I went "ooooohh" at the detail published. Thanks guys!

Ankur : Your interview is on skype or face to face.

I got an invite. I am not sure which one is better? Skype or with an alum in delhi?

I had my interview on campus and it was very conversational. Questions were in-line with what others reported:

Tell me about yourself / resume walk
Why MBA / Why now
Why Kenan-Flagler
What would you contribute
Leadership experience
Teamwork experience
How have you influenced your current firm
Time for questions

My advice would be to do your research, know what you want to do and how the school will help you specifically, and then go into the interview expecting a casual conversation.

Cheers!

Kenan Flagler is one of my top choices, if not my top choice, but I don't have much volunteer experience. I was in a fraternity in undergrad and held several leadership positions and have done some charity work through that organization as well as some small projects through work. I have a little over 3 years of work experience, had a 3.37 GPA, and scored a 710 on my GMAT. I'm debating applying Round 2 this year or waiting until next fall to apply for Round 1 in 2017. Can anyone provide insight into how much is weighed on volunteer work and extra-curriculars? Thanks

Hi bakerrr,

No one component decides you admission result. Agreed that Extra curricular is important, but you have enough fodder to put in the application.
I feel that you should go ahead and apply this year as it is fairly early in the process.

When I applied, they did not give a preference to one or the other, and I believe that is still the case. Personally, I found it very enlightening to visit the school though. Depending on where you are coming from, it might be worth your time.

need an advice folks!

Indian candidate from Bangalore here..

I received an interview invite on 30 Oct and had mailed the Bangalore based alum the very next day asking for a slot per his availability but even after reminders, its been more than a week but I haven't heard back anything.

what should I do in this case? should I reach out to Alums in Delhi as they have 2 alums there as opposed to 1 in Bangalore? Or should I give up hopes for in-person interview and schedule an Skype/telephonic right away?

this is what school's site says -

"In some cities, the demand for alumni interviews will exceed the alumni capacity. Interviewers may not be able to respond to your e-mail if they have recieved many requests, or are in the midst of a very busy time at work. If you do not hear back from an alumni interviewer within 5 to 7 days (or sooner, if it is close to the interview deadline), please schedule a telephone or Skype interview instead. All interview types are weighted equally by the admissions committee and there is no preference as to the type you complete."
