Faced the same. Uploaded the documents in the stripped down interface itself. When you upload the documents, the better interface comes on for uploading. Worked fine and can be checked by the time stamp on the upload successful statements. Just submitted my app.

Ps. You have to go to the check application tab and then finally submit by putting in your password. Its called the "Verify" Stage or something similar. Just paying the fee successfully does not submit the application.

Hope this helps.

Hi Folks,

I was going through the posts on the thread before writing this one and even I received a fee waiver. However, I still haven't submitted my official scores to the school. Also, I didn't visit the campus/attended any other event. Can't think of any other criterion than GMAT score. But enough deliberation about the waiver. Lets all be happy about it :)

So the reason I am writing this post is that I just now received an email about scheduling an interview. It was a pleasant surprise to me. Did anyone else receive that email from the school. Also, if there are any international applicants, can someone let me know what should be a better medium, alumni interview or skype with adcom.

Thanks,
Abhishek

Just received this:

"Dear Anupam,

Thank you for creating an application to the UNC Kenan-Flagler full-time MBA program for entry year 2016. We are pleased that you have chosen to apply and invite you to complete an admissions interview.

You are amongst a select group of candidates being offered this early opportunity. Please schedule your interview immediately. Do not wait until you submit your application. The number of Round 1 interview appointments is very limited, and you will have fewer slots from which to choose if you delay."

This is weird, and surprising. Did not expect an invite without submitting. I am guessing this is because of high GMAT?

I saw Abhishek above who got this as well. Anyone else?

I just got the invite as well. Totally unexpected.

I am not yet sure about the Alumni or Skype. The Alum in Mumbai is a very senior guy, not sure if I want to risk it. Might go with a skype interview.

Please advice ASAP as I need to submit my application for R1.

Getting interview invites even without submitting an application just because of the high GMAT score - speaks a lot about UNC KF. Re-considering applying to the school now.

High GMAT can not be the only reason, because if that is the case, I probably would have got one as well. There has to be some criteria, and I'm sure a good justification for the early interview calls.

I am not sure what the criteria is. But from what I know about KF, they have a pretty decent crowd coming in. They especially love high GMATs, but then again, which school doesn't. All schools want to climb up the average GMAT score rankings, because it makes them more attractive to employers. KF does get a bunch of Indians every year I think, some of them with heavy scholarships.

From whatever I have heard, KF has good crowd, good focus on Consulting (which is my target industry) and a decent chance to get a scholarship.

All I am saying is, don't judge it by what happened to me or a bunch of people who are not even there. :)

I think yes. I have a 6.9/10 GPA, so I entered it as 6.9 and selected other in the scale drop down.

Its deafening silence from KF for me right now.... lets see when do they show their love, or don't show at all.

Hi TheFloridian,

Did you also get a mail stating "You are amongst a select group of candidates being offered this early opportunity." as few others who posted above or your invite falls out of early ones. I'm asking this just to understand whether regular invites have started flowing in or not.

EDIT:

I spoke to the Admissions Office again on the phone. They confirmed that the Early Action Round is neither legally nor ethically binding. They said they just ask that you submit the deposit by the deadline or else let them know as soon as you decide not to enroll. They also said "we can't really force you to come here" and that they do not call other schools you've applied to if you decide not to enroll.

Thanks
