Denied without interview.. I have been invited to an interview from Carlson and Wp Carey but no from UW. Funny, but i now more sure that this school is interested in your essay and career goals more than gmat or else. Anyway, congrats for admitted people and one word for UW MBA authorities: Go hell :)

I am not aware of any word limits for the essays. My own essays were about 1250-1300 words combined but I wrote both the mandatory and optional essays. And I also knew I had to write great essays to make up for a lower GMAT score.

As per the quoted msg, SnakeEyes followed a word limit. This is something getting me confused. In fact I was surprised when I checked the online chats with adcom on school's website regarding app process, nobody asked this question. Did you had any communication with adcom on this?

No I did not have any communication with adcom. If there is a word limit, I'm sure I went over just judging from where other schools set their word limits. But I was still invited for an interview although I was wait listed. My advice would be to just write the essay you want without worrying about length. Obviously you don't want to write a novel but its doubtful you'd do that anyway.

Schools generally have word limits between 500 to 750 words. So I guess keeping it below 800 words should be fine.
