Is the video interview the same as the normal interview? I am a little confused.

So, this video interview is different from the personal interviews. You can treat it as an extension of the filtering process. There will be some pre-recorded questions for which you will have certain time to think and then answer those questions. If I remember correctly, there were 5-6 questions that were posed during this video interview, and each question allowed me 30-45 seconds to collect my thoughts and then another 60-90 seconds to answer each of them. Post this, and possibly based on how you fair during this video interview, you will get an invite for an interview with an adcom representative.

I don't think there should be any adverse impact. Some schools (like Broad) have it as a mandatory step in the application process

I'd say get in touch with the AdCom. Have you been interviewed yet at ND? If yes, your interviewer would be able to put you onto some current students as well. I've found students are very responsive if the request is routed through the admissions office.

Just got the Interview invite today...I was getting really worried!

what's funny is that I got it around 2 PM and at around 7PM I got an "Incomplete application" email because I hadn't scheduled it yet.

Same here!!! Did you get a video interview invite or a f2f one? Also can we practice one day and give the actual interview some other day??

Do you recall some of the questions that you could share with us? I think each applicant will receive different questions according to their profile but knowing the type of questions may help..
