Ross conducts team exercises/group interviews in India only after the 2nd deadline (tentative dates are 7-10 Feb'17) , and encourages everyone to participate in them. Does it mean that round 1 applicants run a risk of being put on the wait list until they can participate later in these team exercises? And if yes, is an international applicant (Indian applicant) better-off applying in round 2 than in round 1?

I'm curious to know how many applicants have been accepted over the past couple of years with out participating in the exercise. I would be surprised if I'm able to take off work and travel to participate.

Jawss, No. Ross wouldn't have an R1 deadline if they didn't want people to apply then. Based on their group interview schedule, they know who will be able to participate and who won't be. Their own interview logistics will not hinder your (or anyone else's) chances at admission should you not get a chance to participate in the group interview. Put together a great app and be awesome in your own interview; that's what you have control over.

Does anyone know when interviews for Round 1 were held in the past? Are they generally in November for Ross?

Hi everyone!!

I was uploading my resume for Ross application and noticed that the formatting for resume requires 1" margins. How stringent are those requirements? Can I upload a resume not fulfilling this criteria without any negative effect on my candidacy?

Thanks

In general, if a school asks for 1 inch margins, you should use 1 inch margins. Will they get out a ruler and measure your margin? Probably not. Is it easy to tell when someone doesn't use 1 inch margins and other applicants do? You betcha

I think one inch margins are ridiculous and it would mess up my formatting completely. I really don't want to redo my resume. Any tips/suggestions please

Welp I completely missed any note specifying 1" margins, so I already submitted with what I'm pretty sure were 0.5" margins all around.

Might be ridiculous to you but adcom has the final say here. Will they ding you because of margins? Doubtful but you may want to take heed moving forward with which rules to follow vs which to bend. As always, ymmv

Ross has an Optional Statement and an Additional Information section.

Any difference between the two? Normally, for other B-Schools, they are under one topic.

Same here. I submitted already, and did not notice the requirement of "1 inch" at all. Can I say left margin+right margin=1 inch? LOL

Why to have an optional round before declaring the results? if at all it is really an optional round. Its really hard for international candidates to travel for an optional round. I think adcoms should clearly give some level of confidence to international candidates that they wont hold it against the candidate if he/she doesn't attend. The hints that they give through the blogs etc. kind of indicates that they want people to attend the optional round.

It is really optional. Obviously, if an applicant can attend the round, it gives an edge, but that does not mean that others who cannot manage shall be dinged. I discussed this part with one of my friend ( Student Ambassador MBA Class of 2017 ), and his comment was : "The complete application is subjective and every factor counts. Some of your strengths may create a negative impact and even a factor you consider your bottle neck, can help you get through. So, don't worry about this round, be yourself and keep your fingers crossed"

Friends : Take your call, so am I doing !! :-D
