I am aiming to apply in the second round. I got a waiver too. I’m just wondering if getting a waiver decreases one’s chance or not.
Whilst the messaging is that a gmat waiver doesn't decrease your chances, it does put the emphasis on other parts of your profile to demonstrate intellectual ability. In granting the waiver, you have to send them proof of ability anyway though. But as an example, someone with a 3.2 GPA could cover that with a 760 GMAT, but now they would need a CFA or work experience or other things to show they have the intellectual rigor needed for the class.
