Hey! Would you mind sharing your thoughts on the sense of community at Stern? Do you find that being in a city, with students spread out all over (some not even in the same borough), impacts the community in any way? Are people quick to hang out with other Sternies on nights and weekends (i.e. outside of school and recruiting activities)? Or do people more retreat back to their pre-school friends?

Could you share how long your application status has been on "Under Review"? Trying to figure out if that status change means that we will hear something soon or if it doesn't matter at all and I could potentially be waiting until March for any news.

I have seen previous posts about receiving access to accounts but I don't understand what this is. Doesn't everybody have access to check your status by logging into the application page? Why do some people need to receive special pins to do so?

We applied thru the consortium. The school receives information from the consortium, fills the application manually, then gives us access to our application file for us to check everything is straight.

Things seem awfully quiet for last two weeks. I'm not sure what's taking so long since this application under review has been up there for last 7 days now, but man I hate waiting.

Does the school actually send out invites on their deadlines? I feel like they send out most of the invites before the deadline, and then send out dings on the deadline... :?

I am also very curious as to why Round 3 applicants had their status changed to "under review" even when people in round 2 haven't heard anything. I hate how stern does their notifications, based on historical trends it looks like that I (rd 3) may be hearing as early as next week or as late as March with no idea of whats going on.

Stern process seems really weird - it is the only school with applications from 2 rounds live at the same time. And now that R3 applicants are under review, does it mean R2 invites are over and Stern is now just waiting for the 15th Feb deadline to send out the dings? Any insights from past trends?
I know that my application was viewed on 15th Dec as I had a hit on my unlisted youtube video from NYC area. And with no movement on my application so far, I'm guessing I'm going to hear back on 15th Feb with a ding.. :| I wish they just hand out the dings as soon as they have made up their minds..

I think the process says a lot about the college... and NYU really stands out among other Top 15 B Schools with its extremely slow and weird process...

Done waiting for this school... What a joke this process has been...
