Hey Ackingston

Hey

1) Does the incoming class have a lot of Indians? how are the post MBA opportunities for Indians/International students

2) What is the total realistic cost of the MBA?

3) The class size is 48? Any cons you have faced because of this?

Regards,
HK

Hi HK - Yes, the class of 2020 is about 50% international (mostly Indian). The difficulty of the job hunt depends on your post MBA goals. If your goal is to work in the US, then your job hunt will be more labor intensive than a domestic student’s job hunt, regardless of which school you attend. Plenty of sponsoring companies recruit at Purdue, but they get hit hard by the international students, so it is competitive, but again that’s the case regardless of where you go.

I’m not sure I understand your question here as a lot of items factor into total cost.

Purdue intentionally reduced the cohort size to make the program more personal. That being said, there is talk within the program that 45-50 is a little too small, so they are targeting 60-65, which I think is a good number.

Hi HK,

I’ll work on building out a total cost for you this week. As far as scholarships are concerned, Purdue was very generous to the class of 2020. Most of us received scholarships or GAs or a combination of the two. Regarding class size, the class of 2018 had 65ish students, 2019 only had 45, and my class had 52, but we had a few people leave the program for undisclosed reasons during orientation, which is how we arrived at 48. Again though, the intention is to increase the class size going forward, but they also don’t want to sacrifice quality of students in order to increase quantity.

Best,
Alex

Hello, quick question.
My recommender is asking me if there is a word limit on the LOR. Does anyone have any idea on how long a reco letter should be?

Nope. No word limit but 1 to 1.5 page is enough.

Thank you for your reply.

I have another question.
I took a year off after my undergraduate degree. Should I explain why I took the time off in my optional essay?

Really it is highly debatable. It depends on may issues.

Ha many years of experience do you have?

Why did you take this year off? What did you do? something interesting, travel....etc

Can someone please tell me if the KIRA Video essay/interview is part of the Krannert application and needs to be submitted before the deadline. Or can it be extended as per rules ?
