Guys ...I think preparing for general interview questions is good. The interview is very conversational.

Why MBA, why Krannert, what are your short/ long term goals , achievements , challenges , leadership incidences , compliments , biggest learning ..I think you should be well covered.

Yes, if you can answer these questions, then you will be fine.

I’ve seen a lot of questions regarding scholarship letters on this thread... while I’m not sure how they are providing the information this year, last year I received my scholarship details 3 days after my admit e-mail. As this is a busy time for the admissions team, I would say to wait at least a week after admit before reaching out, if you haven’t heard anything regarding financial aid up to that point.

Thanks Sanath,
I am interviewing today. Anything specific I should look out for?
How have other interviews been?

I would say be yourself, be confident and keep it conversational. If possible try to lighten the mood talking about the generic topic at the start or in between. I think Why Purdue is something you should have a solid answer to.

I have heard other programs at Krannert do accept students without an interview. So just thought I'd ask this group if they do the same for an MBA program as well :)

What you are saying is valid in programs other MBA either in Krannert or any school, but it is not valid in an MBA program. I have never seen it even in small programs. I recently discovered some program in US and Europe that asks very tough question and dive into details.

For how long have you submitted your application?

Good luck

Also curious as to why you feel that not interviewing would be a good thing? In business, you’ll have to talk to people....

Very chilled and relaxed interview mine was. Standard questions like why MBA,Why Krannert, leadership examples, some things from Resume, Etc. Nothing out of the blue
Keep it casual, conversational.

They asked you to walk them through your resume or did they ask you specific questions from your resume?
Also, of how many people did the panel consist?

Not exactly walk me through your resume.
He asked me about my current projects and discussed about a point that I had mentioned in my extra curriculars
Only one person took my interview. Very chilled. Very relaxed.

I just got done with my interview (35 mins overall) . Mr. John Gibson took my interview. He's the Associate Director of Admissions - Krannert Graduate School of Management

We exchanged pleasantries for 5 mins. He explained that this would be the last step in the admission process

Questions -
Tell me about yourself
Why mba? Why now?
Why Krannert?
Any other schools you've applied to?
Short term goals - mentioned some companies in the essays and asked where do you see yourself in 2 years
What does your typical day look like
What inspires you to wake up and do what you do
What did you learn about yourself while leading a team
how would your team describe you
what are you most proud of

Questions for me - asked - he replied and we discussed on the same for about 5 mins.

He was very friendly, the interview was really conversational - may be the best I've had in a while. He mentioned that in two weeks I would be notified about my decision and asked me to shoot a mail if I needed to know something else. I mentioned how GmatClub helped me understand about Purdue better.

PS - positive about this :)

Regards,
HK
