Totally understand how you feel Booyah. Saïd was supposed to be my safe school as well so I’m definitely not confident of the rest, given that I’m basically telling the same story to all other schools as well.. I could go on but point is: you’re not alone! Fingers crossed together with you. Best of luck!

Strange...I got a super curt dinge letter from Said. Strange cuz every single professional told me that said was ideal fit for me....So i cant figure out the reasons. I wish I could ask the AdCom, but letter clearly states that said doesn't provide feedback.
Feeling so very awful! Anyone else in my shoes - confused and rejected?

So sorry to hear that BooYaah. That must be very painful.
However, don't lose hope. My guess is that your application itself was not competitive, although you may have an awesome profile.
Writing essays does not come easily to most people and Oxford does have a long list of essays, so you've got to make sure you present an impressive and coherent story together.

Don't lose heart...its a learning process for every applicant.

Would love it if you can have a look at my essay
As per my experience, Oxford had the shortest list - just one major essay, and that was on a statistic or a trend that is shocking. But it most certainly is a learning experience! I always thought writing was my strong point, seemingly not quite so...
Let me forward you what I wrote. Thank you for the offer MBADecoder :)

If I remember correctly, they have a lot of questions within the application.
Let me see what you've got.

Not knowing you or your profile, I would guess that not treating the 8 no-limit short answers as additional essays (and space to tell your story and fit) is perhaps the reason for the ding.

The additional information essay, which was required, also an important additional space to share fit.

howdytex2 Yes, that does look like a possible reason for the ding. I conveyed in detail all the information asked. Most of those 8 no-limit questions were either standard or too straightforward, I really just answered them to th point...(showing my fit along with providing context/story/whatever is what I tried doing in additional information essay and post-MBA goals section).

Hi All,

I am planning to apply in R2. Have only started working on the application now. Do you guys think R2 is achievable?
Also, how much time is appropriate to complete the application?

Kind regards.

Hi! I think R2 is achievable, especially if you are done with the GMAT. It took me a solid month to complete the application with all the involved short answers and the difficult essay.

Start researching your career goals now (there are at least 4 questions about this). I found people with my target post-MBA position/ company on LinkedIn and set up calls with them.

Best of luck!

(Also visit campus if you haven’t already, pretty sure they look at this.)

I haven't received a ding or an invite yet. Is this normal?
I submitted my application on 7th, while one of my referees submitted the LoR on 14th.

Yikes! That is not normal as interview decisions for R1 came out last Friday. Did you get an email confirming your application was complete for R1? I would email admissions.

It sounds like you didn't make it into round 1 as the submission of your referee was after the cut off for round 1. Best to check with admissions what's going on.

I got a confirmation mail on 7th. But nothing after LoR submissions. Planning to drop them a mail on Friday.
