Are endorsements in application process a thing? So you can boost your chances by having people send endorsement letters to adcom? Didn’t know there is such thing can somebody verify?

Some universities have an actual section where someone can submit an endorsement
I think it only helps if the person endorsing you knows you very well, and is strongly affiliated with the university. And even then, the amount it helps by is likely limited. That is, it won’t make a bad candidate good. But it’s another + point towards someone’s candidacy.
