When I asked the adcom, they said you need to submit LOR on or before 12th Jan.

Recently, I had a chat with one of the members of the admission committee and I asked the same question. This what he said:
MBA Program Admissions: we will need at least 1 recommendation by the deadline in order to begin the review process.
