Ask admissions to connect you with alums! Or research them via advanced search and Inmail on LinkedIn.

One stupid question:
Can everybody (if someone is not get admitted yet in any specific business school) connect with alums?
Thanks__

YES! It's the best way to research the school. That's what student ambassadors are all about. When admitted they can connect you meaning admissions. But I think LinkedIn is a better, unbiased sourced not cherry picked. Always include these conversations in your essays but make sure the quotes are meaningful and not superficial crap.

My clients have been very happy in both programs. What is your #1 goal for the EMBA?

What do you mean cross-registration? All the things you mentioned are only at CBS and not Kellogg?

Hi all, first I want to thank this amazing community for helping me through my GMAT and EMBA application journey. I've been accepted to Columbia Fri/Sat and Kellogg EMBA and it's definitely a hard choice. I work in tech M&A as well as with startups and hope to continue developing my leadership skills, network and community, and generally never stop learning.

I've spent time at both campuses and love the would-be peers, faculty, and material. Differentiating factors for me: Kellogg has the on-campus residency, more senior class, and potential scholarships; Columbia has the location that's been more relevant for my professional and personal networks, cross-registration (both during the program and as an alum,) work study projects with faculty and clients, and clubs like Startup Lab, Technology Ventures, Executives in Residence, Entrepreneurship through Acquisition, etc. etc.

Appreciate any input you guys can share :)

Thanks for your response! I have spoken to many alums from both schools, and both groups have given me lots of wonderful stories and encouragement. The only real difference that I saw was that the Columbia alumni network is much larger, so I was able to connect with many more Columbia alums.

By cross-registration I mean that at Columbia you can complete a few credits at one of their other schools (e.g. law or any other) and continue to audit classes in any department when you're an alum. I don't think you can do that at Northwestern, and as an alum you can audit Kellogg EMBA classes but that's it. I don't believe the Kellogg EMBA program has any work study projects, and club participation is very limited as those are mostly for the full-time students.
