Deciding among Kelley (50% Scholarship), Simon (70% Scholarship), Schulich (No scholarship. Can someone help me by throwing some insights on any or all of the programs and there take from this list? Considerations I have at the moment are:
1. Would like to shift with my family (which forces me to consider Canada over the US, where my wife won't be able to work.
2. School rankings and scholarship
3. Respective Program benefits, considering my current profile in Management consulting and Post MBA goal in Strategy Consulting
4. Comparison between post MBA job opportunities in both the countries
5. Immigration policies in both the countries (Canada seems pretty liberal as compared to the US)
Any insight may help me in making a better decision. Thank you in advance!!
First of all congratulations on all the offers and scholarships.
1. I am not sure how the Canada process works, but do you think your wife would be able to work when you are a student?
2. Based on rankings and brand, Kelley is a great school. A tier above Simon. Not too familiar with Schulich(sorry)
3. You already seem to have consulting background and I think Kelley should give you better opportunities overall in consulting but Simon won't be too bad. You might have to look into their employment reports and talk to current students.
4. Again, I think Kelley should give you better opportunities. I am not very familiar with Schulich but I would assume Rotman gets most of the Canadian jobs however Schulich might place you in the middle or on the west coast better in Canada.
5. This is a hard one as you are well aware of the recent problems international students are having in US. I would say Canada seems a better/easier comparatively choice right now. However, I think you would still get an OPT for 1 year and hopefully you can get a good job.
You might look into a STEM related add-on to your MBA at Kelley or Simon that can give you a OPT of 3 years and help with H-1B chances.
Hope it helps!
