Hey
spark1496,
First off can we give some kudos for your entrepreneurial adventures? Those sound really interesting, and I'm betting they have supplied you with some unique and compelling material for your essays. Good for you!
Without test scores or full-time experience, it's difficult to fully assess your Ivy League/M7 chances, but you're off to a good start in terms of extracurriculars, internships (assuming you were given real responsibility), and role with a FAANG company. Obviously the next couple years will be critical for you to show you are a star in your role as an area manager, and that you have some level of investment in your community (not in a profit-rendering fashion).
A few recommendations to set yourself up for success going forward:
1. Find a way to get involved in your community in some volunteer role. This is less about quantity of organizations you are involved in, and more about making an impact on those around you. This can be anything from volunteering at a soup kitchen to supporting young artists, but make a commitment to make a difference in the next few years.
2. Consider a supplemental Quant class or two, depending on your GMAT. Your GPA is a bit low, especially for the Stanford/Wharton/HBS AdComs, so unless your GMAT is super strong in Quant you may consider taking a Calculus or Stats course and acing it, to show you can handle the academic rigor of the MBA program.
3. Get more clarity on your career vision. You've listed VERY different roles in Management Consulting and Product Management there. As a Consultant, you don't really own the work. As a PM, you own every aspect of the product and process. With a good GMAT, your blue-chip work experience, and a well-executed application, you are certainly a candidate for the schools you mentioned.
Can you tell us more about your responsibilities as an area manager? And more about your academics - did you grades trend upward at Baruch?
Reach out if I can help as you move toward your MBA Goals!
