Hi Golnar,

Thanks for sharing your profile info with us!

As a general rule of thumb, you ideally want to score at or above the average for any school that you're applying to (734 for Stanford, 727 for MIT, 710 for INSEAD, 701 for LBS, and 727 for Columbia). The reality is that as a female candidate from the Middle East, you come from a demographic that's of particular interest to admissions committees that want to improve diversity (both gender diversity and geographic diversity) among their classes, so that's in your favor. However, I would say that even with your favorable demographic profile, you'll need at least a 700 to be a serious contender at the US programs, and probably a 680 at the European programs.

I would also urge you to give some thought to what you'll write about as your post-MBA career goals in your application essays. Your work experience to date has been somewhat scattered (research, investment analysis, marketing), so you want to make sure you can explain what the common thread has been across your pre-MBA work experiences. You'll also need to clearly articulate what you want to do after business school (both short- and long-term), why you need the MBA to get there, and how your pre-MBA work experience will be relevant.

I hope that helps -- if you'd like to chat further, feel free to reach out to us at www.admissionado.com!

Best,

Doris
