I have an extra room in my condo which I will gladly share for a GMAT tutor to stay in who can a help me prepare for the exam few hours a week.
Location: Huntington Beach / Orange County
Must be able to provide GMAT score and/or basic teaching skills.
Posted from my mobile deviceHello,
lowercasekae. Gosh, this is an odd one, and I imagine you are going to have a tough time filling this request. Do you mean that, in exchange for tutoring services, you will allow some well-credentialed tutor to stay
rent free in your condo while you prepare for the exam? What happens when you take the test? Does the tutor lose the room, does the rent increase, or what? And what happens if you start the process and it becomes clear that your manner of learning and the style of teaching of the tutor do not align well? I bring up these considerations not because I suppose you have not considered them already, but because this offer sounds like the premise of a
Judge Judy case or something. I think the vast majority of qualified tutors will be hesitant—I know I would not want to live with any of
my clients, and I am a top-rated tutor (with over 250 five-star reviews (out of five possible stars), and 0 of anything lower)—while anyone else will be more interested in the room. You
could get lucky and just happen to catch the right person at the right time, but do your due diligence before you invite someone to live with you. Ask for a lot more than credentials, perhaps a free trial lesson of 15-30 minutes or so, a couple phone calls or video chats to get to know each other, and so on. Now I sound like a concerned parent...
Good luck to you, both in your studies and your search for the right live-in tutor.
