Yes you require passport irrespective you give exam anywhere. Passport is a mandatory document for verification without which you can't even sit for exam. You have to have your valid passport with you for your exam. With other significant documents. List of which you can find on MBA.com

Fo an Indian citizen, passport is the only valid ID to book the GMAT slot. Pl make sure it hasn't expired.
