I am a Korean student, currently working at a local investment bank for about 6 years.
As an assistant manager at "Structured Finance Department", I usually do stuffs like modeling the deal sturucture, reviewing agreements and executing the entire deal. Since, the deparment belongs to the "Underwriting Division", I am also capable of processing underwiting deals, such as, debt issuances, capital increases, and so on, in Korea. (Actually, the bank itself is one of the five biggest investment banks in Korea, however, I heard, unless it's BB that doesn' really count)
My company, a rigidly local bank, is trying to expand its investment field to Indonesia, Vietnam or Philippine.
And, my team is hoping and trying to execute the very first cross-border deal with an Indonesian company this August, after failing three attempts.
(I had participated on the every three attempts, and these 3 were the only attempts that have been tried by our Underwriting Division)
My goals for the MBA are to begin my relationship with international and foreign local bankers, to know how people from the other countries view Corporates when they invest, to work in Hong-Kong or other asian branches of my company and eventually to be the cross-boarder specialist in my company.
Also, I am expecting to receive a fully-paid sponsorship from my company, which will be decided on around October.
My target MBA is one of Wharton, Booth, INSEAD and LBS.
Unfortunately, I can't recall any "community practices" right now.
Some advice on my overall backgrouds, goals or anything would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
