Hello Everyone !
Could you please rate my chances of getting into one of the Top European B-Schools MBA Programs (LBS/INSEAD)?
I just recently took my GMAT and am now unsure, if my profile is strong enough, or if I should consider retaking it.
Due to my long working hours, this is immensly difficult though.
Personal:
Male, European citizen, 27Y
GMAT
Overall 710 (90th percentile)
- Q44 (50th percentile)
- V42 (96th percentile)
- IR 7 (82nd percentile)
In the later Quant "heavy" courses at my university (Microeconomics, Intro to Statistics, Investments) I've recevied only A or A-.
I've also self taught myself coding (at least the basics with VBA/Python), and successfully used those at work in several projects.
Educational Background:
B.A. in Economics & B.Sc. in Business Administration
Overall GPA 3.81/4.0 - Graduated Magna Cum Laude
Work Experience:
Before my studies, I served 2 1/2 years in my countries Armed Forces.
- 1 Year deployment with UN Peacekeeping Troops in the Middle East - commander of 5 communication specialists by the age of 19.
- Promotion to Officer (Reserve) - During University studies
- Currently: Platoon commander (leading 30 soldiers)
Voluntary Service for 1 1/2 months in one of my countries embassy's in the middle east.
Currently: Operations and Finance Graduate Program at leading semiconductor company (multi-billion $ company).
Worked as:
- Financial Planner for production site
- Pricing Specialist for European Key Accounts
- Controller for our European Distributors
Extracurriculum:
Eagle Scout (similar to "Queen's Scout" in the UK, but from the american scout association)
Undersecretary General of my Universities MUN club
- Managed the budget & operations of international MUN trips and our local conferences with over 100 participants.
Points of concern:
My low quant score in the GMAT (but, I would be able to argue for the score not being representative of my quant skills)
Missing Charitable work
Thanks for your valuble insights !
