After the craze of the Verbal subsided, i left to take the break without showing the whiteboard; (There wasn’t any prompt!) I came back from the break and showed the whiteboard; before beginning the IR.
Will this impact anything?

I also had a power outage on the LAST question of the IR. But luckily after an Hour the proctor restored my session.

The gmat online gets really tricky to deal with these interruptions; i hope gmac and pearson give some flexibility on the outcomes of these unsolicited interruptions

RCCRSC I'm not sure of that, even I didn't get any prompt from the proctor to show the whiteboard before I left for the break, however I did show them the board as it was mentioned in the instructions. I don't think you should face any issues considering you showed them whiteboard before the beginning of the IR section and the proctor didn't raise any concerns.

Are you saying that you waited for one hour on the last IR question and that the proctor came back after one hour and perfectly restored your old session? This is interesting because in the past, the exam has been cancelled if it is that late.

In my defense the proctor should have called me by phone, and they didn’t. I wrote to gmac/pearson regardless; maybe the issue at the end of the exam didn’t concern them (16 seconds were left on the section time and I just selected an option and clicked next to end exam after showing my board)

But who knows, they may cancel the scores later after reviewing the case.

Hi guys, do you happen to know any sitting regulations in the online exam? I have a really bad habit of sitting cross legged on the chair (like below)

or maybe sometimes, even sitting like a good fellow below:

Sorry for the silly question, but is it permittable to sit like this on the GMAT online exam?

Daresay that sitting cross legged shouldn't be an issue! (I do wonder about the knee coming up into camera view, though) Consider contacting the support at mba.com or asking the proctor before your exam starts.

I have two questions regarding online GMAT.
1. Can you see a human proctor(like in a video call) continuously say sitting on a chair in some corner of your screen?
2. Does the human proctor tell you to show your whiteboard or some rule like you have to show it after a section is completed or anything?

1) No. You won't be able to see the proctor. You will see your face on the software which continuously records the session.

2)The proctor will communicate with you via chat mostly and ask you to show around. Its before you start exam. Nothing in between unless he finds any problem.

Thank you anurag. Basically, the proctor will ask me to show my whiteboard via a message in the chat and I would have to simply show it on the screen? That's about it?Also, generally does it take 7 days for the result?

Yes you will get instructions from him regarding all the checks. Once he is satisfied he will start the exam.

For scores, it is mentioned that you will get in 7 business days. I have seen people get in 2-3 days as well. I myself got on 6th day.So 7 working days is deadline after which you can contact GMAC/Pearson.

If in case there was power outage during the exam, but the session got restored after an hour; would the scores be canceled? I did the exam on 10th; the mba website says ‘pending: learn more’

I am not sure about it. Maybe someone else in this thread can tell if they had similar experience.

Did you contact support team regarding this?

This similar case happen to me as well. I started the test around 2.5 hours from the scheduled time because the Proctor cannot feed in my webcam, and I needed to re-access the onVue application several times and waited for the proctor to come in each time I re-access. During the IR session, i needed to relaunch the exam 2 times (take around 2-3 minutes each) because the proctor suddenly cannot feed in my webcam (again). At the end i managed to finish the test and now the status in my account is "pending". I hope i can get the score so don't need to retake. Anyone face this similar issue kindly share the experience . Thanks!

You can sit in both positions as long as you are able to maintain that position through out the exam. ;-)

Because if you change position your face wont be visible on on the webcam.

I remember I pulled the laptop towards me during verbal as I did not need space to keep the whiteboard, then I realised my face was't visible and again adjusted the laptop. I was wondering if that would result in problem. nothing happened.
