Not sure if you’re planning to write a dBrief. If you are then definitely save it for that but if you’re not, I would like to understand a little bit more about the disruptions you have faced. Thank you.

Hi bb, yes I do plan on writing a debrief in two parts - one on the GMAT experience (probably this weekend), and one on Prep. If there's anything specific you'd like me to cover regarding the disruptions, do let me know and I'll make sure I include it. (That's if I remember, the past few hours have been an absolute blur. :blushing: )

Quick update on the exam showing as "In Progress" in my mba.com account: The status changed to "Pending" soon after, and I just logged in and the Official Score is available too! So all good!

Is it confirmed that the secure browser works with the Home-version of Windows 10?

And one more question: Will the test screen have the same size even if my screen is huge (29"). I wonder because its much harder to read on a big screen.

Anyone know the best way to contact GMAC? I had an issue with the online test and am hoping to get a response from them but it seems I need to wait until they respond to their 'customer care' email. Multiple attempts of trying to call them haven't gotten me anywhere.

Increasing the number of online GMAT

Dear friends it is important that GMAT increases the number of online GMAT attempts. Presently the number of attempts are restricted to two and four people who are residing in areas where test center is not available it becomes an extreme disadvantage. Increasing the attempts at par with the offline exam will ensure fairness in all respect.

Regards

Hi pranav7673,

I believe that the GMAC is working on increasing the number of attempts test takers are allowed, but there are test security concerns that may be delaying the process.

Your point is valid, of course, but what the GMAC may be trying to do is ensure that the online GMAT is also seen as secure and accurate.

AjiteshArun,

Are you perhaps referring in part to the test-security issues discussed in the below article, which suggests that the GMAT online question bank is (was?) only switched out every two months, unlike that of the test-center GMAT, which is changed approximately every two weeks, leading to an increase in cheating attempts on the online exam?

Hi mcelroytutoring,

Interesting article, but no, I wasn't. I actually wanted to point out how the GMAC may be addressing test security concerns.

By the way, the Reddit users mentioned in that article appear to be concerned about score inflation attributable to "internationals", but they don't consider how schools look at class composition. For example, does score inflation due to Chinese test takers affect, say, American applicants in any meaningful way? That is, are they competing directly against Chinese applicants, or are they competing against other American applicants? I would genuinely like to know. Personally, I hope that admissions officers can find and remove from the applicant pool anyone who cheated on the GMAT (interview performance, perhaps?).

I don't know your opinion on this, but, just to be very clear, I'm not trying to say that Reddit is wrong. It's just that most people tend to look at information in a way that confirms their own beliefs. I agree that the online GMAT is far less secure than the test center GMAT (post includes some out-of-date information) but that P&Q article seems to me to be pure speculation.

Hello everyone,

I came across a problem when I attempted my online GMAT today (18/07/2021) and thus request some guidance. After successfully connecting with the proctor, I was told that my ID is not displayed on the dashboard, even though I had verified my ID a month back. I am attaching a screenshot for reference. The proctor then told me that without the display of ID I won't be able to take the exam. She said to contact the GMAT team as they have the control to display the ID. Once they fix the error, I am supposed to contact the Examity team to reschedule the exam. She reassured me that this attempt won't count as a complete attempt, and that most probably GMAT team would fix this issue. Now I have just contacted the GMAT support team, but I still have some concerns. I would really appreciate it if someone can suggest to me what else can I do at my end.

1. Besides customercare@gmac.com, are there any other email IDs or phone numbers I can contact?
2. Did I commit some silly mistake because of which my ID is not displayed? Then how come is it showing verified? I tried to check the Examity dashboard again but I couldn't find any option of displaying or uploading my ID.
3. I used the Aadhaar Card, a government of India-issued card, during verification since my passport had expired sometime back in this pandemic. Has anyone else faced this issue while using an Aadhaar Card?
4. I know the proctor said that this attempt should not count as one, but is there any remote possibility that it does? I slightly worry because this is my 2nd attempt online GMAT attempt, and there is still a lack of appointments in incenter tests in my location.

Thanks & regards
Arjun

Hi Arjun02,

This attempt will not count against any of the limits. You couldn't even start the exam!

I wouldn't go entirely by what your proctor said though. Reach out to Examity at +91 80091 91077 and support@examity.com ASAP.

No. Just during AWA there was a lag while typing. But Quant and Verbal were not an issue.
