HI,

I got into Duke as a forte fellow with 100K scholarship, and haas with no money. What's your take on that? Is the Forte network providing real opportunities, especially for international students? Or should I prioritize ranking and choose Haas?
Thanks

Both Duke and Haas are Top 10 programs. As an international student you would be better of having a smaller financial burden.

I'd say Duke any day. Fuqua community comes along really well and you shouldn't have a problem with networking at all

First of all congratulations on two great admits and scholarships. I think it depends a lot on what you want to do post-MBA. If you wanted to work in tech or work on the west coast, I would consider Haas seriously but if you are open to other geographies and career in consulting/healthcare/banking etc, Fuqua with 100k is tough to pass up. Just my two cents!

I think Duke and Haas are pretty close to each other. I would take the $100k

I would take the money in hand vs. Forte Network.

Congrats! I would echo the comments above, follow the money and team Fuqua! Forte network is a great bump, the Duke name (and post-MBA placement) is national, and that money could be crucial. Hope to see you in the fall.

Just my 2 cents - there's a guy from the UK who decided to go to Haas, where he recently got off WL, despite a full ride from Fuqua.

Thx. Interesting data point. The question is why... what made him make that choice?

He is after Renewable Energy, which is stronger at Haas, and he fell in love with Haas during the process. And I think he is also going to reject Kellogg :)

Wow. That’s some brand loyalty. Can’t say he is making the wrong choice though. It’s all about priorities, your comfort with debt or your ability to finance the tuition on your own...

Hope he enjoys Berkeley. It is a very cultural and historic place to live in. Many people love it but the hippiesh culture is not my thing. (At this stage in life. I could see how it would be much more inviting when I was a poor student).

Wow that is strong brand loyalty... although OP, I don't think you should do the same as the other guy unless you have a very specific reason like that.
