Hi,
First, I'm sorry if even asking this question is hurtful to some people. I realie I'm in a great position. Really.
I'll be taking the GMAT for the first time tomorrow, after practicing for about a week - my target school has opened the program for this september for the first time, so I needed to apply really quickly.
1) Veritas Prep free test : 720, (Q51V39 I think)
2-5) The last 75 questions or so of each category in the official book
6) GMAC PE 1: 730 (Q50V40 I think) + some SC
7) GMAC PE 2: 740 (Q49 V42)
8 (tomorrow): Exam after work
I graduated somewhat recently in a quantitative field and read quite a bit in English (which is not my first language but I do use it daily), so I wasn't too surprised to do well, but I was still (very) pleasantly surprised to see this.
Now obviously these are great scores, but I've got a small strategy question: I always have TONS of time left. I have passed several actuarial exams, which are fast-paced standardied tests, and I've become very good at it. I generally finished the Quant section with about 20 minutes left and the Verbal with about 30 mins left.
Now I don't plan on going to HBS or anything like that, so 720-740 is certainly high enough for me, but I still want to get as good a score as I can, just because.
Should I try to spend a bit more time on each question, possibly increasing accuracy but reducing mental stamina, or keep things as they are? I think it may be too risky to make changes this close to the exam, but I'd like to see what GMAT Club thinks of this.
Again, sorry if this looks like I'm bragging, but I really do want to get people's take on this.
No change in strategy would be the best strategy . Take deep breathe and take the exam tomorrow. Hopw you already do better than you have been doing in the practice tests already.
Dont forget to write a debrief here on gmat club.
All the best!!!
