A. -4
B. -1
C. 0
D. 1
E. 8

Given: \(\frac{4 - 2y}{2 + y} = y\)

Asked: What is the value of \(y^2 + 4y + 4\)?

\(\frac{4 - 2y}{2 + y} = y\)
\(\frac{4 - 2y}{2 + y} -y = 0\)
\(\frac{(4 - 2y)-(2y + y^2)}{(2 + y)y} = 0\)
\(\frac{(4 - 4y - y^2)}{(2 + y)y} = 0\)
\(y \neq 0\) and \(y \neq -2\)
\(4 - 4y - y^2 = 0\)
\(y^2 + 4y = 4\)
\(y^2 + 4y + 4 = 8\)
