If k is the average (arithmetic mean) of the first 8 positive multiples of 6 greater than 6, and if p is the median of the first 8 positive multiples of 6 greater than 6, what is the value of k/p ?

A. 10/11
B. 1
C. 11/10
D. 12/11
E. 0

Given: k is the average (arithmetic mean) of the first 8 positive multiples of 6 greater than 6, and p is the median of the first 8 positive multiples of 6 greater than 6.

Asked: what is the value of k/p ?

Numbers ={12,18,24,30,36,42,48,54}

Average k = (12+54)/2= 33
Median p = (30+36)/2=33
k/p = 33/33=1

IMO B

Bingoooo , we have a short cut for this question !! It will take hardly few seconds ...

If the terms/elements/entities are in AP (Arithematic Progression ) then average = median . So answer will be 1 —-B

Here , the question is lil bit paraphrased but don’t worry : Go through the question , it taking about the same set , 8 positive multiples of 6 greater than 6

Hope this helps
