If x + 3y = 15 and y – x = 5, then y =

A. −5
B. 0
C. 3
D. 5
E. 15

x = y - 5

Now, We have y - 5 + 3y = 15

Or, 4y = 20

Or, y = 5 , Answer must be (D)
