x = three times the number immediately below it, so x = 3*(-18) = -54;
y = three times the number immediately below it, so y = 3*3 = 9.
x + y = -54 + 9 = -45.
Answer: A.

Since each number above the bottom row is equal to three times the number immediately below it;
x = -18 *3 = -54
y = 3 * 3 = 9
x+y = -54 +9 = -45 ..... Answer A....
