No don’t think so . R1 s are traditionally easier to crack and has a larger acceptance rate ( may be becuase the cream candidates mostly apply in R1). Also i dont think they have a fixed no in mind to take in . If you are good you get in !! That’s it . ISB historically is a college which places importance on the GMAT score . If you have a good GMAT score accompanied with a good profile (4+ work ex in agoid company ) then there is 80-90% chance u will get in even with an avergae interview ( as i mentioned in the earlier post , interviews have only 10-20% weightage ). With good gmat , academics , profile you will be placed in P1 ( priority 1 group ) before they call you for interviews. P1 and P2 s rarely get rejected .
So if you have already done the hard part . Dont worry too much about the interview . Be yourself and that’s good enough to get you in . Many candidates are wiatlisted becuae ISB loses about 30% of initially accepted candidates to other b schools like Harvard , stanford , kellogs , LBS etc . So to fill up those spots they us the waitlisted candidates .
I was doing some research !! Almost everywhere it says interviews has only 10-20% weightage on the final admission decission . So if you have a stellar profile and good GMAT score , even with a below average interview you will get admission .

Yes that's true
It's a relative selection.
For example -
A B C are the categories of evaluation
A- 9/10 B- 8/10 C- 5/10
21 marks are for selection
Take my case
A- 6/10 B- 5/10 C- 9/10
C here represents the interview A and B and work ex and academics
Now I walk out head high for having a feeling of rocking the interview but there's always more than that
Strong acads and work ex is what schools at
But having said this a terrible interview won't get you in despite having the best acads and work ex
Admits from Round 1 are going to be tough to get. Heard from a current student at ISB that they confirm only the top 25% or so of R1 applicants. Those who did well but are below this cut, will be waitlisted and compared with the R2 group. Is this how it normally works ?
So let's say this is true about 1200-1500 applicants in R1
25% acceptance rate 300- 375 in
Some wait listed.. Some rejected
Now
R2 - apps are higher i.e 2000-2500 applications so rate would be about 20%
So 400 to 500
Total about 700-875 applicants in and about 100 wait listed applicants Along with the EEO who have deferred admissions
Giving their batch size of 970+ students
I believe that for r2 the intake is low because of the higher number of applicants

Ah the P1 p2 p3 last year all we discussed was this on whatsapp groups but let's hope for the best
What I have heard is that work experience + acads + spike in profile ( some extra curricular stuff) + interview matters. If you have been called for the interview Gmat score would rarely be the reason for rejection. Thoughts?
Even if u have got a call still while evaluating ur final admission decision GMAT score plays an important part and a high GMAT can compensate for a “not so great “ interview . Interviews are basically for the colleges to check your employability ( they want to make sure u can crack job interviews and they can showcase that ) .
So if u get a interview call and a high Gmat with good profile , there is nothing to worry about even if u have not performed as per your expectations in the interview

No worries HK !!! With a 700+ GMAT , and a good amount of work ex behind you , the 6th hokage should waltz into the ISB . I read your interview post , how do you think that went
Excellent , good , average , below average , bad , terrible ??
Anything other than terrible i would say that you have already “chidori” d your way into ISB
Putting in numbers the exact answer I got from a consultant- Work experience - 30 %, profile - 30 % ( include acads , college - tier 1 and stuff) , interview - 35 %, ONLY Gmat - 5 %..

Doubtful whether the interview carries 35% weightage . It is 20% at best. I personally know few people who have gotten into ISB even after a disastrous interview.
1. What all a candidate has to do after getting an interview invite? Accept the invitation by clicking on the link in the mail. Is there anything else to be done?
2. We just need to carry passport and nothing else to the venue?
3. There is no one word essay in the interview this time?
1. What all a candidate has to do after getting an interview invite? Accept the invitation by clicking on the link in the mail. Is there anything else to be done? Since I am still waiting for the invite, I can not confirm this, but I think that is the only thing that we have to do from our end.
2. We just need to carry passport and nothing else to the venue? Just the passport would suffice.
3. There is no one word essay in the interview this time? There is no One Word Essay this time. Atleast, it has not been conducted so far in this admission cycle.

1) there's a click here and you need to just click there
2) just passport, no need of cb certificates etc unless you want to
3) isb stopped asking. Wasn't there last year as well
