I recently got to know ISB has launched a new R3 this year. I discussed this with few alums. One of the alum suggested this a scary thing for any school. As per him this shows that the school has not been able to generate the kind of interest it expected and to lure more candidates it is launching a new round.
He was also of the opinion that this will have no major impact on the quality of students as serious top 1200 candidates would have anyway applied.
Most of the US schools have seen a huge dip in interest and schools in all the other geographies have been benefited with an increase in % of applicants. I was quite surprised after seeing this new development as it questions the demand for the school. Would love to know the opinion of the people on this thread.

With many IIMs are now offering 1 year MBA programs, good alternatives for ISB have certainly increased, but I don't think that'd reduce the demand for ISB given the high reputation, prestige, and strong connections with the industry ISB has and that too when the number of applicants interested in 1 year MBA is increasing continuously. I think there could be another reasons for starting R3.
Has anyone heard back from ISB about R2 results? I picked Bombay as an interview center, where interviews should be conducted the 5th & 6th of this month.
I had applied to ISB in R2 as well. I had selected Mumbai as the interview center, if there has been no intimation about the interview so far would that mean the application is not shortlisted? Also do let me know if there is a whatsapp group for the R2 applicants I could be added to.
