I would start by doing some research and talking to Kelley, McDonough, and Rice current students.
Trying to stay as brief as the tone of this topic, FYI - you will face headwinds trying to secure and offer in Consulting recruiting (chances are slim as competition is very high!) so I would say you need to work on Plan B and see if you want to pay $130K for slightly better chances at getting an interview with a consulting company.
Thank you for the response
bb. By the time I would be in the US, I would have 6 years of work experience - Full Time IT Consulting. I am looking to transition into some kind of strategy consulting role - I am ok with EY, Delloitte (would try hard for the likes of BCG though).
I am keener towards McDonough (first) and Rice (second choice) because I have scholarships from both schools. Further, the brand name of McDonough is better compared to Rice (at least that's what I have heard). As per the recruitment stats on their respective websites, big-4 do substantial hiring at both the schools. As for plan B, I was thinking of continuing with IT consulting only if I don't really get strategy options.
I am currently trying to reach out to the current students to understand the placements of international students. I don't have any location constraints: I would be happy to find a job in either TX or around DC. Further, I have heard it's difficult for international students to land a job in DC - just wondering is it still true in 2020?
What are your thoughts?
