Hi,
Could someone please evaluate my profile for LBS and Said
I just took gmat but not satisfied with my final score. Have booked date for next attempt.
Gender and Age: M,31
Acads : 10th and 12th - 80% and 75%
BTech - 67% from Jaypee Noida in 2011
GMAT- 680(q48,v35) (Working it to take beyond 700)
Work experience: 8.5 years
With Leading IT service company.
Working as Software Quality Lead In Investment Banking domain leading large and complex Trading platform for multiple financial product.
Managed small teams, designed and implemented solution.
Managed work relationships with market participants and
International experience of 5 years in Singapore and London and still in London.
Reason for MBA:
Short term goals : To move into corporate strategy ,relationship management or product management in IT or Finance .
Long term goal of taking leader ship roles in IT services or Financial Services.
I have gained good experience and knowledge on Banks and its IT systems.
Working with various stakeholders, i have gained both bottom-up and top-down view of product development in Banks and financial institutions.
I feel that I am now better placed to lead large projects, client and teams in a more effective way.
Please let me know in case of more queries.

Thanks for posting. LBS & Said will definitely appreciate your international experience and perspective, as that is something they are seeking in applicants. That said yes I agree with retaking your GMAT and aiming for, ideally, 720+... especially with your undergraduate academics being lackluster. It's not clear if you progressed or were promoted over your 8.5 years of experience (?), that would certainly look more positive than staying in a similar level, but it's good that you have some experience managing teams and gaining those skillsets. I also don't know much about your extracurricular or community involvement experiences... if you have more examples of that and potentially more examples of leadership and impact during your job all of that would help. I would definitely raise the GMAT, and overall Oxford chances will be higher in any case, but I can't rule out LBS entirely yet either... to discuss in more detail of course feel free to sign up for a free 30 minute consultation at any point, www.mbamission.com/consult.
