Many online retailers charge ???restocking fees??? on returns if the purchase price is refunded back to the customer's credit card, but charge no such fees if given as store credit.
A. if the purchase price is refunded back to the customer's credit card, but charge no such fees if given as
B. for purchases that are refunded to the customer's credit card, but not when those purchases are refunded as
C. when the purchase is refunded back to the customer's credit card, but not given in the form of
D. if the purchase price is refunded to the customer's credit card, but not if the refund is given as
E. whose purchase prices are refunded to the customer's credit card, and charge no such fees if refunded

why can't A be the answer.. it can go like this: X charge ..... but charge .....
it satisfies parallelism

A:refunded back=redundent,'if given as'.. to whom? to the customer or to the store? Wrong sentence.
B:purchase is refunded to the credit card? can teh purchase be refunded?
C:same error as in B.
D:Correct answer choice
E:if refunded.. to whom? similar error as in A.
Option D is correct answer.

In answer choice A) the parallelism is between charge "restocking fee" VS charge no such fees.
My question is in two parts: 1) can the "purchase price is" be assumed as the subject and helping verb (similar to ellipsis) for given as? If not, then why? is it so because it can't be referred because it is at equal level of parallelism?
2) Is (noun +helping verb) ellipsis even allowed?
Sorry, it may sound stupid, but I am trying to understand it structurally, so I do not repeat this kind of mistake again.
