Hi
psl26,
Thank you for reaching out. Since you are coming from a competitive applicant pool as an Indian male engineer, a lot will come down to figuring out how to differentiate yourself. The most successful candidates craft unique and compelling personal stories, and cast a wide net (it is great to see that you have a range of target schools on your list).
Your concerns regarding your profile are valid, but we can certainly help here! Your 760 GMAT will help offset your GPA. While it may be slightly lower than the average at the top schools, it is still well within the range.
As for coming from a lesser known company, this simply means that you have to work a bit harder to communicate your accomplishments, especially if the admissions committee is less familiar with your company.
You will be expected to have very strong recs so if you have enough support behind you and a powerful story, you can certainly make up for a lot of the lack of a "well-known" name. While there are feeder companies for some of the top b-schools, they only make up a certain percentage of each class, so there are slots for applicants like you.

Feel free to reach out to discuss your profile further.

25M Indian Engineer Male
GMAT: 760 (49Q/45M)
Work Experience: 3 Year as a Software Engineer at an Indian start up (1 Promotion). Currently I am a tech lead.
Extra Curriculars: Active in the stand up comedy scene. Organzied and revitalized the stand up scene in my part of the city by arranging open mics. Also founded a local short film making club. But nothing recent because of COVID.
UG: 8.5/10 in Bachelor's in Engineering (Computer Science) i.e around 3.52 GPA.
Colleges I am thinking of targeting:
US: Tuck, Duke, Darden, Tepper, Ross, Johnson, Sloan, Stern
Europe: LBS, Insead, IMD, Judge, Said.
Things I am worried about:
1. My GPA does not really stand out
2. My profile being very generic
3. My ECs being very generic
4. My work experience being in the software industry
5. My work experience being from a start-up and not a well known company.
6. I have an IR score of 5 (47th Percentile).
Post MBA goals: I want to pursue a role as a product manager in a big tech companty post MBA.
Please advise on which colleges I can add to the list and what I can remove and how can I make my post MBA goals seem more appealing?
