Hello,
I am planning on applying next year (2019) and would love any feedback on A) target schools (Are HSW outside my range?) and B) What I can do to increase profile
Below is my profile:
White American male
3.98 GPA / public state school (2nd tier below flagship state university)
750 GMAT (49Q 44V 8IR 6AWA)
2 years abroad teaching English (gained fluency in language while abroad)
Passed CFA level 2
2.5 years at a boutique M&A firm (Analyst)
Board member / committee chair at small non-profit To answer your first question- H/S/W are not out of your range on your stats-- but then you need to just keep getting to know these programs and nailing your why MBA/why now profile
Committee Member for Steering Committee of University Alumni Association in my city
Young Professionals board member at city chapter of large national organization (think Humane Society, Big Brother Big Sister, etc).
Are there any other things that could help bolster my resume?
Rather than look at it just as bolstering the resume-- what is it about the MBA you seek? What is important to you? Beyond rankings, do H/S/W best deliver and meet your needs? Focus on this rather than pure rankings or prestige as that message does not play well on the Adcom Show. How does teaching English flow into your M&A work? What skills do you need to gain from an MBA that you have not been able to get so far? Answer these questions-- and if you want a consult to learn more how we can help, here is the link:https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com/consult/ You can also ask us about our Early Edge program as that sounds ideal for you-- we work with you for a year prior to application to make sure you are on track doing all the right things to be ready to apply when the time comes.
Thanks!
