That 690 from your pool is going to be tough- I think it will be toughest at Stern, Darden, Kenan-Flagler, Ross and UCLA. I think you may find better odds at Tepper, Georgetown, and Simon. Remember that coming from the most competitive pool of India- the avg GMAT scores are much higher in this pool than the overall reported averages so for example while Kenan-Flagler's overall GMAT of 700 might make it look like you are close to the average- among Indian applicants it is likely to be much higher than the 700 avg- probably more like 720. So you are not just a few points off but more like 30-40 pts off when you are considered against other candidates from your region. Now the GMAT is not the end-all- there are I am sure strong candidates from every region - including India- with a GMAT score just like yours in each of these schools. So to be that person, you need to do everything else perfectly- interivew persuasively, have clear goals for MBA and that particular school, show how you can add value in class, have career goals that are realistic and reasonable for your background. I think extra work could help you be that person. To do all these things well, having a consultant to bounce ideas off of can be useful. We also work with candidates one year prior to B school to help them package themselves in the best way for when they are ready to apply. If you'd like to know more about how we can help you- please reach out to us at this link: https://stratusprep.com/free-consult/?g ... gQodzWcCLg Please Suggest which other colleges I can apply to
For where you are right now, I'd also look at schools like Kelley, Rice, Fisher, Wisconsin, Krannert, Pittsburgh, SMUAlso, I am from the army background which meant moving from a place to the other frequently. This has helped mold me as a person and I think helps my candidacy as an MBA student as forming relationships/communication/good leadership skills are inculcated in me because of the examples I have had around while growing up.
Please highlight my strengths and weaknesses which I could address in my essays. Looking forward to your responses
I would say that working an extra year or two and focusing on improving that GMAT could really open up a whole new range of schools if you are willing to wait one more year. Thanks in advance!
