Thanks in advance for the feedback on my profile. Here are some relevant facts:
Work Experience: 5 years with a hotel REIT in property operations. Managed teams of 6-24 people in various capacities, several promotions. 2 years (current) with B4 as a hospitality/real estate consultant, focused on general hospitality consulting, financial and commercial due diligence, real estate asset valuations, etc. I also am their go-to publication writer, and have been published in a leading hospitality industry trade publication.
GMAT: 700 (taking again, aiming for 720-750)
U/G GPA: 2.5. Story here is that I was working full time in the hotel industry throughout all four years, and ultimately wasn't focused on grades. Have recently taken 3 non-matriculating courses (Statistics, Micro, Fin. Acctg) through a local community college with two 4.0's, last class is currently underway but all indications point to another 4.0.
Extracurriculars: Currently active in a professional organization for real estate professionals. I volunteer as part of their Young Leaders committee and chair a subcommittee. Also active with a local food bank organization as part of their Young Leaders group; currently working with current chair to develop 5-year growth strategy.
Letters of Rec will both be coming from CPA/MBA B4 supervisors; one is a Wharton alum. I feel confident in my essay writing given my current exposure to business/professional writing.
I'm focused on schools that offer strong real estate programs, with the end goal of working in real estate private equity. As such, Northwestern is my current reach program; an alum is the CEO of a company I really admire and would love to emulate. Also considering Michigan, Cornell, and Georgetown. If GMAT comes in better than expected, and depending on feedback received here, I may consider other options. Would love to try Wharton/Booth but think NW is enough of a stretch as is.
Thanks again for the feedback!
