Hi
vishalyyyhhhh,
Thank you for your post. While low GPAs can be tricky,
Personal MBA Coach regularly works with applicants who have a low GPA and they get in if they ace the GMAT, have impressive experience, and put together compelling applications. We would be curious to learn more about your data analyst position. Along with your promotion, you will want to highlight your performance at work and general career progression.
You will, of course, want to address the cause of your low GPA in an optional essay. However, we advise candidates to remain brief and to the point when doing so. Do not offer long-winded excuses or any more information than is needed.
Taking additional coursework (particularly quant courses or those related to your future field) can be a great way to boost your profile. Keeping that in mind, think about your post-MBA goals and what type of course would best complement these aspirations, since it is important that all components of your application fit together to tell a consistent story.
You may also need to cast a wider net. Our clients apply, on average, to 5 to 8 schools, including reach schools and some safer options. If you successfully articulate your goals (more on this
here), score well on the GMAT, and determine how to differentiate yourself from your competitive applicant pool, you should have a shot at some of the T50 schools. In terms of looking to go into fintech, think specifically about you will make your unique mark as a consultant.

Post -Mba goals : I wish to work in the fintech industry as a consultant.
I wish to get an admit from top 50 Mba programs , but given how the fierce the competition is I believe my GPA would be a major setback , should I do a distance learning masters and cover up that low undergrad with a good masters academic performance or would that be a complete waste of time and I should focus on something else that would shine on my profile ?
Also what other MBA schools do you recommend I try for ?
