Hi Experts,
I've taken my first GMAT (760 Q51 V41), however am quite troubled with my Verbal score of 41.
Prior to the exam, I didn't study too extensively, doing ~1/3 of the
OG questions (mainly to familiarize myself with the exam question formats) and the two Official Practices (CAT1 750, Q50 V40; CAT2 750, Q50 V42), and my Verbal scores have consistently landed in the 40-42 range. Although no ESR available, I felt from practice exams and questions that I was decent in RC (1-2 incorrect in sets of 20), weak at CR and very weak at SC questions, and would love to improve at these question types - the
OG doesn't seem to explain holistic approaches for tackling them.
Given that my preparation for the first GMAT was quite limited, I feel I still have sufficient room to learn and improve my Verbal score to a 45 or above, which would justify a retake. May I kindly ask if you could recommend any resources or strategies I could consult to improve my Verbal (CR and SC in particular) sections?
I'm a recent university graduate of Law and Finance, and am taking the GMAT just to get it of the way before work. I'm not really in any hurry to apply to schools or have any time constraints - am more so curious about how I can better my Verbal score in a retake. Many thanks!
